The Fine Print:

*A schedule change can happen at any time. A schedule change is defined by a flight cancellation, time change, flight number change, routing/airport change or operating carrier change which occurs more than 48 hours prior to the originally scheduled departure time. These unforeseen incidents can happen at any time and are beyond our control.

Insurance Information:

In most cases, your travels with go without a hitch. You’ll not have to experience the nightmare of being seriously ill or injured in a foreign country. But if you do, the last thing you want is not having the support or financial means by which to get treated and flown home. For that alone, travel insurance is worth every cent and Destination Weddings & Romance by Kiki can assist you with this! Pricing is listed in your passenger contract that was sent to you. If you need different coverage please contact us to discuss.

The Manulife Premium Protection Plan is designed for residents of Canada who:

a) are covered with a government health insurance plan for the policy duration; b) are age 69 or younger (at the time of purchasing the policy); c) are travelling for a maximum of 23 days inclusive of any extension (including the date you leave on your trip and including the date you return home); d) are listed as Insured Person(s) on the confirmation of coverage (for ease of reference, these persons may also be referred to as ‘you’ or ‘your’ throughout this policy); and e) purchased the plan within 72 hours of making a deposit or initial payment on the trip travel arrangements.

WHAT DOES THIS POLICY COVER?

Coverage includes Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption, Travel Disruption, Emergency Medical, Baggage Loss, Damage and Delay, and Travel Accident. These benefits provide coverage for ACCIDENTS, INJURIES, UNEXPECTED ILLNESSES, AND OTHER UNFORESEEN EVENTS that occur during the policy period unless the event or situation causing your claim is specifically excluded in the section

WHAT DOES THIS POLICY NOT COVER?

Please visit https://www.igoinsured.com/TravelWeb/auth/tmc/forms/policyppp.pdf"target="_blank">https://www.igoinsured.com/TravelWeb/auth/tmc/forms/policyppp.pdf for the full policy details.

The 3 key parts of travel insurance

Here we outline simply what each major part actually does:

  1. Medical Emergencies & Evacuation — As mentioned above, If there is one reason to buy travel insurance, this is it. Hospital costs abroad can approach $10,000 per day, while emergency transport home for treatment (medical evacuation) can easily exceed $100,000. Definitely take the time to read this part in detail, especially the areas of coverage for emergency evacuation, limits on medical expenses and cover for emergency dental work. Also make careful note of the general exclusions, which are outlined in the description of the coverage (policy wording).
  2. Trip cancellation — This covers you for costs if you suddenly find you can't go on your trip for some unforeseen reason such as illness, an accident, a death of a close relative or cancelling for any reason. The important thing to remember here is that for this section to be useful, you have to buy travel insurance at the time of booking. FOR TRIP CANCELLATION: If you are unable to travel due to any unexpected event that occurs before the departure date stated on your confirmation of coverage, we will pay 100%, up to the covered amount as indicated on your confirmation of coverage: A. For the prepaid unused portion of your travel arrangements that are non-refundable; and B. For any published cancellation fees and/or amendment fees that you have incurred if you cancelled your trip, provided the cost of those fees were included in the covered amount for your trip cancellation coverage. Our “cancel for any reason” benefit: • If you use the Cancel for Any Reason Benefit– 75% of Non-refundable amounts 7 days or more prior to departure, 75% of Non-refundable amounts capped at $1500, 6 days to 24 hours prior to departure. 3. Baggage & personal belongings — Any insurer expects you to take 'reasonable care' of your belongings which means a claim may be denied if you leave your camera in a shared room in a hostel or in your car overnight (unsupervised in a public place) and it's stolen. You must file a police report as soon you notice money or your personal belonging(s) has been stolen otherwise your claim will be denied.

*Not all travel insurance is the same. All travel insurance policies have specific benefits and exclusions so it's common sense, imperative, and absolutely necessary to take the time to read the policy wording carefully. These vary depending on which country you are from, so please take the time and always contact us if you are unsure about anything.

Thanks, Curtis & Priscilla
